Meet Kate

I EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANISATIONS TO TRANSFORM THROUGH CHANGE.

I’M KATE. SUCCESS & EMPOWERMENT COACH, AUTHOR, RECOVERING PERFECTIONIST.

A few years ago, I was stuck in a career that was costing me more than it was paying me. Problem was, I didn’t know what to do about it. It had taken me a lot of work, time, effort, and HECS debt to get where I was, so it seemed reckless to throw it away. Also, because I was really good at doing what I thought everyone else wanted, I found lots of reasons to keep doing what I was doing.

When my health began to suffer, I was willing to look at and think about other options. But I didn’t actually do anything to make a change. I was mistaking “familiar” with “safe” and convinced myself I was better off sticking with what I knew.

I reached my pivotal point of no return when I realised my family was suffering, and I was too consumed with coping to be fully available to them. That realisation gave me the courage to step out of what I knew was bad for me and create something better.

Books to support & advise

MUST-READS FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO LIVE A LIFE FUELLED BY PURPOSE

"Why Being Good Can be Bad for You" is about how I managed to burn myself out by being a perfectionistic people-pleaser who placed unrealistic expectations on myself. It is also about how I came back from burnout and created a new version of my life that brings me joy and fills me up.

It is my sincere hope that this book will help anyone who feels stuck in patterns of perfectionism or people-pleasing, as well as those who have experienced, or at risk of, burnout.

" I loved Kate Witteveen's fresh and invigorating writing style. I was captivated by her ability to weave strategy, empirical research, and heart-wrenchingly relatable storytelling into a beautiful book, sprinkled with wit and charm, that will leave the reader feeling confident about positive immediate action they can take in their own lives. A fantastic read!"

FEEDBACK FROM CLIENTS

N.W.

“Kate was able to help me frame up my own mental dialogue around what was and wasn’t working for me at a cross-roads decision in my career, and which parts of that were internal versus external.  Her gentle but incisive coaching approach was an efficient and productive sounding board for me to test my options, and decide on a course of action that was true to my personal and professional values.  I really enjoyed our coaching sessions and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kate.

(Booking 793 more sessions because patterns are hard to break!)"

B.M.

"Before I met Kate, my life was in chaos.  I was completely overwhelmed and heading towards a very dark place.  My first session with Kate was life-changing.  She helped me clarify the issues, prioritise, develop a plan, and make a start. She is professional yet empathetic, objective but human.

She is very good at what she does.  My sessions with Kate are invaluable. I cannot recommend her highly enough."

S.B.

"I find great benefit in talking to Kate. I am a guy who has deployed and found it initially hard to get myself into a room with someone to deal with the ball of stress that I had turned into.

After that first session, there was just an extreme sense of calm that you can always return to it with the strategies she builds with you. I can highly recommend her services to anyone who needs peace from the inner turmoil."
